#MindYourSelfie sees us sharing photographs and offering free resources, all to promote positive mental health for everyone in the community, and especially young people.

What do you do to #MindYourSelfie?

Every year on #MindYourSelfie Day, we want as many people as possible to see and use the #MindYourSelfie hashtag to raise awareness about the importance of looking after our mental health.

The day also marks the launch of a new, online resource, which, over the years, has included everything from Wellness Journals and mindfulness colouring sheets to eBooks and classroom film guides.

Whether it’s coronavirus, the climate crisis or Brexit, we’re bombarded more than ever with what can often feel like worrying information or constant uncertainty through television, radio and social media – and this can have an impact on our mental health.

So, this year, we’re invited you to tell us what you do to destress and #MindYourSelfie during this time when anxiety is running especially high in the never-ending news cycle.

From taking time out to have a chat over tea with friends or using a mindfulness app for a quick meditation, to even simply unfollowing social media accounts you don’t want to hear from anymore, there are lots of different things you might like to do to take a pause and calm your mind.

New #MindYourSelfie resources

Our brand new resources, launching on #MindYourSelfie Day 2020, are two classroom presentations, hosted by child and adolescent psychotherapist, Dr Colman Noctor, and designed to educate students in secondary school about how they can take care of their own mental health. The presentations give meaningful and practical ways that young people can look after their wellbeing. Topics covered include everything from building resilience and valuing our sense of self-worth, to understanding the relationships we have with ourselves and dealing with comparison culture.
