School Portal

Our School Portal invites primary and secondary schools in Ireland to capture and share the great work they’re doing to promote mental health and wellbeing.

Promoting positive mental health

Every school treats mental health promotion differently. Some schools hold mental health events such as Wellness Weeks; others run Buddy Bench initiatives, walking events and mindfulness exercises; while some schools are still looking for ideas to develop their own mental health and wellbeing strategy.

Promoting positive mental health

The first of its kind in Ireland, the School Portal from us here in Walk in My Shoes (WIMS) is a free, secure, online platform for teachers, principals and school staff to showcase the mental health and wellbeing activities and resources that their schools are promoting in their classrooms and communities.

The portal aims to be a one-stop-shop for teachers and school staff to support, inspire and collaborate with their colleagues in other schools in their efforts to promote and encourage mental health and wellbeing.

Already, we have close to 500 school staff registered to the portal and hundreds of resources available.

Resources on the School Portal can be filtered by school, class level, and topic, meaning that teachers can find and develop projects that will best suit their students’ needs. Using the portal will also allow schools to enter our Mission Possible school achievement awards, which acknowledge and recognise the work being done by schools each year to promote positive mental health.

If you’ve any questions about registering or using the School Portal, please contact our WIMS team by emailing info@walkinmyshoes.ie.
