Our Frame of Mind competition uses short film as a creative way to show the importance of positive mental health and challenge mental health misconceptions or stigma.
Walk in My Shoes (WIMS) is inviting secondary schools and Further Education Training (FET) centres (including Youthreach) to produce and submit short films that promote a positive mental health message.
The 2026 competition
Practising gratitude is a fantastic way to help support our emotional wellbeing.
For this year’s Frame of Mind competition, we’re once again inviting students from secondary schools and FET centres to submit a short film, under three minutes long, that helps to convey a message of gratitude.
This year’s judging panel includes Michael Doherty, Movie Editor from The RTÉ Guide; Eibh Collins, Shorts Programmer for the Galway Film Fleadh and Film and TV Manager at the National Talent Academies; and Tom Maher, Director of Services at St Patrick’s Mental Health Services.
We hope students and learners who are passionate about filmmaking, storytelling, or mental health promotion will take part in this fantastic opportunity.
Promoting wellbeing through creativity
Gratitude encourages us to pause, reflect and appreciate the positive things in our lives. Through this initiative, we hope to inspire students to explore the theme in a meaningful and creative way, while promoting positive mental health and wellbeing among their peers.
How to enter Frame of Mind 2026
Frame of Mind is open to all students in secondary schools and FET centres (including Youthreach) across Ireland.
