‘Play in My Boots’ is an adaptation from St. Patrick’s Mental Health Foundation’s ‘Walk in My Shoes’ Campaign, which began after a 16 year old said he wished his friends could put themselves in his shoes.

‘Play in My Boots’ was established in 2014, by St. Patrick’s Mental Health Foundation and the GAA as a mental health resource for players, coaches, clubs and communities.
The information, advice, and guidance offered in the packs are carefully framed in a language familiar to players and coaches, and are consistent with the nuances of a GAA club.

“As part of our ongoing work in the area of mental health, we are delighted to officially launch our newest resource for clubs, players, coaches, and parents, which will offer advice and guidance in promoting, sustaining, and maintaining positive emotional health for all GAA members.” Colin Regan, GAA Community and Health Manager.

If you or your club would like find out more or to get involved in supporting vulnerable young adults in Ireland with mental health difficulties, you can find out more here.

St. Patrick’s Mental Health Foundation and the GAA would like to express their gratitude to Allianz for their support in the publication of ‘Play in My Boots’.

We would also like to thank – in particular – Colin Regan, GAA Community and Health Manager and Emmet Haughian, GAA Health and Wellbeing Coordinator for their dedication and commitment to ‘Play in My Boots’.
